The Change One Sound strategy challenges students to discriminate between two words that only differ by one sound.  Paired contrasts, such as cat and cot, provoke students to consider carefully each sound they hear in a word.  This ten-minute introductory video explains the rationale behind the Change One Sound strategy, and shows how it is used with students at different stages of reading development.  This video includes teacher responses to a variety of student errors.
