Professional Development Modules

Across the course of the school year, the TRI school-based teams collaborate with their TRI consultant to continue professional learning through monthly 2-hour workshops. We flexibly adapt the following modules to best meet each school's needs. Typically, each module includes:

  • an article to read and discuss,
  • a PowerPoint presentation,
  • activities for hands-on practice, and
  • discussion questions.

  • Ramping Up to Full TRI Implementation

    Back-to-school time can be crazy! We support TRI teachers' easing into their newly adopted TRI practice at the beginning of the school year. Then through this module we clarify the typcial next steps teachers can take to achieve the most out of their TRI instruction.

  • Green Level Word Work

    Strategies to support a student's decoding of words that require advanced phonics knowledge (i.e., "stay" or "boat").

  • Purple level Word Work

    Strategies for helping children attack multi-syllable words

  • TRI Extensions, for Word Identification, Fluency, & Motivation

    A Professional Learning module to focus on extending the optimal learning throughout the entire day

  • TRI Extensions for Vocabulary, Comprehension, & Motivation
