Dr. Marnie Ginsberg is the Intervention Director of the Targeted Reading Intervention within the National Research Center on Rural Education Support. After teaching in the public schools, she established a reading tutoring/consulting business and also led professional development workshops in literacy. During her doctoral studies in education at the University of North Carolina, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy as an instructor and teaching assistant. Her dissertation research was on the ecological contexts of a struggling learner’s reading growth. The seeds of Marnie’s dual interests in literacy and rural education were planted early during her youth in a
small town in rural South Texas.
