Justin Garwood

Justin Garwood, M.Ed., is a Research Assistant on the Targeted Reading Intervention (TRI) team at the FPG Child Development Institute and a doctoral candidate at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the TRI, he worked for several years in an upstate NY elementary school before earning his master’s degree in English Education from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development. Justin is completing his Ph.D. in Early Childhood, Special Education, and Literacy, at UNC. Because of his Adirondack roots, Justin has a particular interest in rural schooling and child development, specifically the role that families and society play in the education of young people.
