Jeanne Gunther

Jeanne Gunther is a Literacy Consultant for the Targeted Reading Intervention: A Rural Early Literacy Initiative within the National Research Center on Rural Education Support. Jeanne received her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Fredonia and her M.A. in Reading from SUNY Albany. She is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Education at UNC-Chapel Hill with a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse learners of literacy. Jeanne has taught graduate level courses in literacy at both UNC-Chapel Hill and Longwood University in VA. In addition, Jeanne spent eight years teaching first and fourth grade students in Durham. She holds National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist and is also a former business owner, having run an art and literature studio for toddlers and preschool children.
